short episode  - not the beginning!

Episode ? – Sunday morning

Agatha Cobblethwaite the mayor’s long-suffering wife
René Cobblethwaite (RC) the Mayor
Charles the chauffeur real name Jock Johnson but looks like Prince Charles and Boris rolled into one
Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson two little boys from nearby
“Basher” Smith traffic cop
“Smoothie” Fisher Basher’s team mate

RC has been to a reception from the Archery Club. He went  there (as everywhere else) for the food and drink, ostensibly representing Middlethumpton.

Is driven home by Charles

Agatha is gardening and tells RC off

RC wanders into the house and upstairs with his archery trophy presented to him by the club.

Agatha wanders into the kitchen to make high tea.

Then calls upstairs to RC to come for tea, but he does not reply.

Calls again and then goes upstairs exasperated to get him out of bed, where she suspects he is sleeping . Cannot find him.

The front doorbell rings and she hurries down to open it.

The two boys tell her there is a body on the gravel path

It must have fallen from the balcony (Romeo balcony like in Italy)
